Silicon Valley Center for Global Engineering Education (SVCGEE)

The Silicon Valley Center for Global Engineering enhances engineering students’ educational experience and career prospects in the global context by cultivating a vital relationship between SJSU and international engineering education institutions. The following activities of the Center are are designed to address the needs of SJSU, Silicon Valley companies, and the global engineering community:

  • Develop, market, and implement global collaborative degree programs international universities
  • Initiates and coordinates global outreach programs around multinational engineering education

Silicon Valley Big Data and Cybersecurity Center (SVBDCC)

The SVBDCC was established as an Organized Research and Training Unit at SJSU in 2012, as a collaborative between multiple colleges and departments across campus, including the Davidson College of Engineering.  The executive director is Dr. Michael Parrish, the dean of science.  The director is Dr. Sigurd Meldal, professor and former chair of Computer Engineering.

Materials Characterization and Metrology Center [MC]2

[MC]2 at San Jose State University provides a wide variety of materials imaging and chemical analysis capabilities for numerous applications throughout science and engineering.  [MC]2 is an Organized Research Unit at SJSU, and has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Defense Microelectronics Activity.  The current lab director is Dr. Gregory Young, chair of the Biomedical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering Department.
