The EXCEED (Excellence in your Engineering Education) program provides incoming engineering frosh with an introduction to San José State University and the College of Engineering. EXCEED students will engage in team-based engineering projects aimed at getting them excited about engineering and highlighting how their upcoming engineering education will build on their existing math and science skills. The EXCEED program will include math and writing tutorials to help students be prepared for college level math and writing. The program will introduce students to many resources at SJSU that can help them achieve academic success. The 10-day program will run from Tuesday, August 6 to Thursday, August 15. This is a full-time, residential program that involves activities all day and evening, as well as dorm living. There is a $100 registration fee (need-based scholarships may be available). All other program costs including food and housing will be covered by the program.
This program is part of the Engineering Pathways to Success Initiative and is supported by grants from Agilent Technologies, Xilinx, KLA Tencor, Cisco and Aruba Networks.
Applicant Eligibility
To be eligible, all applicants must:
- Be a freshman accepted to a College of Engineering major for Fall 2013
- Be available for the entire 10-day program, Tuesday, August 6 to Thursday, August 15, 2013 including activities all day and evening, as well as living on campus.
