The Engineering Pathways to Success (EPS) program in the Davidson College of Engineering was initiated in 2009 by the dean and associate dean at the time, Dr. Belle Wei and Dr. Emily Allen. The goal of the program is to increase the rate at which engineers are trained and produced to meet projected demands in the US and beyond. According to the National Science Board, there is a "growing need for STEM knowledge and skills in the 21st century", and "STEM-knowledge and skills enable both individual opportunity and national competiveness" [National Science Foundation, 2015]. To achieve our goal, it is necessary to simultaneously increase awareness, interest, and preparedness in the K-12 student population, and invest in programs to ensure students' success in college and beyond. In addition, it is necessary to broaden the traditional pool from which we recruit engineering students in both diversity and gender.

EXCEED was a 10-day, intensive, summer bridge program for incoming freshmen. The program ran from 2012 to 2015.
The EAP is a K-14 outreach program staffed by our undergraduate students. Please contact us to have an Ambassador visit your school or event.
EPICS is a national program that provides service-learning opportunities in the engineering curriculum. Please contact us to host, sponsor, or mentor an EPICS project.
