After three years of planning and room reconstruction, Computer Engineering’s Showcase and Collaboration Lab is now open! At the Grand Opening in April 2017, Department Chair Xiao Su and Interim Dean Ping Hsu made their remarks, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Commissioned by former Dean Andrew Hsu, the project began in 2014. Architecture and design meetings started in late 2015, and construction officially began near the end of 2016.
The new lab features a variety of tools designed to help our students succeed. With its multipurpose abilities (showcase events, meetings, classes, etc.) and advanced A/V setup (4K video wall, three 4K TVs, easy video conferencing, wireless mics, and ceiling-mounted speakers), this lab will allow students, faculty and staff to easily collaborate on exciting new projects. The lab also features floor-to-ceiling magnetic white boards, making it an ideal place for students to bring their concepts and projects to life.
